Guest Experience Intelligence

A guest arrives more than once

The first arrival is when your guest reaches your door. The last is the feeling they carry home.
Fifth Arrival reveals where the experience strengthens, or quietly loses, spend, reputation and return intent.

Private by design. Nothing is published. Selected Founding Partner places are currently available.

The Five Arrivals

Luxury hospitality is remembered emotionally. A guest arrives in layers, through place, service, impression and memory. The fifth arrival is connection, the point where a stay or a visit becomes loyalty.

Fifth Arrival is guest-experience intelligence for luxury hotels, residences and premium venues: an independent read on where the experience quietly loses spend, reviews and returning guests, and what to fix first.

VThe Fifth ArrivalWhere they truly connect

The fifth arrival is what luxury hospitality actually sells. We help you create it, consistently.

What we do

More revenue without more guests

We help you see your business through your guests' eyes. After a while, even an exceptional team stops noticing the small frictions that quietly shape a stay or a visit. An outside eye, trained on guest experience, notices them again, and connects each one to the reviews, loyalty and revenue it touches.

Reputation

We find the friction likely to weaken a review, before your guest writes it.

Loyalty

We identify the moments that make a guest return, and the quiet ones that lose them.

Revenue

We surface the missed upsells and moments that may be limiting spend per guest.

Every week, guests leave with an impression management may never see.
Most will never tell you why they did not come back.

Where experience becomes performance

Every finding tied to something you can act on

Customer experience is not a satisfaction score. It decides what they spend, what they say afterwards, and whether they come back. We connect what we find to the numbers management is already judged on, and rank it by what to protect and what to fix first.

Revenue

Revenue you already have in the building

The upgrades never offered, the table or treatment never suggested, the outlets a guest walks past, the services they did not know existed. Higher spend per head from the people already through your door, not from more of them.

Reputation

The reviews you have not received yet

The recurring frictions quietly shaping review sentiment and perceived value, found before a guest writes them down, so the rate you charge keeps feeling justified.

Loyalty

The reason they come back, or do not

Whether the experience earned recognition, made things right when they went wrong, and gave a genuine reason to return, or whether a quiet disappointment is costing you the repeat visit and the referral.

Focus

What to do first

Isolated incidents separated from real patterns, and every recommendation ranked by impact, cost and urgency. A short list you can act on, rather than a long list of faults.

We show you where value is quietly slipping away. You put your own figures to it.

The evaluations

Three ways to see your guest experience clearly

3–6 weeks · Flagship

The Long-Stay Evaluation

Our specialist evaluation of the extended stay, for luxury hotels and serviced residences that want to win affluent long-stay guests and digital nomads. Three to six weeks in residence, examined week by week, because consistency is the one thing a single night can never test. Delivered as Luxury Long Stays.

Relevant to: long-stay conversion, extensions, ancillary spend and suite or residence positioning

2–7 nights

The Short-Stay Evaluation

A full guest-journey evaluation for hotels and resorts, from arrival to departure. You receive a structured executive view of the agreed guest journey, the friction affecting reviews and repeat intent, the strengths worth protecting, and the commercial opportunities inside the experience you already deliver. A weekend couple, a family with children, a business traveller, friends on a trip or someone travelling solo each notice and value different things. We evaluate through whichever lens matters most to the guests you are trying to win.

Relevant to: review sentiment, spend per guest, repeat stays and consistency across the team

The Venue Evaluation

A discreet guest-experience evaluation for premium restaurants, bars, spas, clubs and hospitality experiences, examining how service, atmosphere and guest flow influence spending, perceived value and the decision to return.

Relevant to: spend per guest, repeat visits, service flow and venue reputation

Request the Venue overview →

Each works as a one-off, or as a sequence across a quarter, half-year or year, so you can see whether the changes actually held. For venues, a sequence answers what a single visit cannot: does your team recognise a returning guest, and does anything change when they do?

What we look for

The small things that quietly cost you

Where guests hit friction

A greeting that is correct but never warm
The ninety seconds where nobody acknowledged you
Waiting that nobody explained
Upselling that lands as pressure rather than care
Atmosphere, energy and the details nobody sees anymore
Service that changes between shifts, teams or locations

None of it is dramatic. That is exactly why it survives: too small to complain about, too small to notice from the inside, and quietly present in every review that says "lovely, but".

And what to protect

An evaluation that only finds fault is worth very little, and it demoralises the people you need most. We look just as closely at the moments that made a guest feel valued, remembered and genuinely looked after: the fifth arrival moment, where a visit quietly becomes loyalty, and the person who created it. You will know their name.

Then the question that decides everything: does that happen by design, or by accident? If your best moments are accidental, they are not a standard. They are luck, and luck does not scale.

Turn those accidents into standards, and better reviews, returning custom and a team that knows exactly what makes them exceptional stop being a matter of luck.

What you receive

Not a checklist. A clear read, and what to do first.

One

A structured executive read of the whole experience

Every stage from the first welcome to the last impression, assessed for execution, consistency and emotional resonance, so you can see precisely where it holds and where it slips away from you.

Two

Strengths, friction, and the person who made the difference

What to protect, what is costing you, and the person on your team who created the moment, whether that was a stay, a meal or a single visit. Named, so you can recognise them and build the standard around what they already do.

Three

The revenue and loyalty opportunities

The missed upsells, the moments that quietly lose a repeat customer, and what each one plausibly costs you. Higher spend per guest, stronger reviews and more returning custom, without a single extra booking.

Four

A conversation, and a short list of what to do first

We walk through the findings together and agree the order to act in. This is where the report stops being a document and starts being a plan.

How it works

Simple, discreet, and built around your guest

Every evaluation follows these four steps. What we look at closely is yours to set: if there is a particular area you want examined in depth, whether that is your spa, your restaurants, a new concept or a service moment you are unsure about, we build the evaluation around it.

I

We arrive as a guest

Unannounced, as a real guest, paying attention to the whole journey. No one on your team needs to know.

II

We read your reviews

We find the patterns in what guests already say, and see how they match with what we experience.

III

A confidential report

Strengths, friction points, and the hidden revenue and loyalty opportunities, with clear priorities.

IV

A conversation

We walk through the findings together, and agree what to protect and what to change first.

Private & discreet

We reveal what your guests experience
but your management no longer sees

Every evaluation is confidential and written only for you. We stay anonymously, as any guest would.
Nothing is posted, shared or promoted. This is business intelligence, for your eyes alone.

Who we are

Fifth Arrival was founded by a customer-experience leader with two decades across international consulting, premium retail, business strategy and service improvement, including seventeen years as a founder and chief executive.

That commercial discipline is paired with extensive first-hand experience of premium hospitality across more than forty countries, many of them several times over, and long-duration stays, including twenty weeks living across Southeast Asia this past year, two to four weeks in each place rather than passing through. The perspective is deliberately independent: close enough to understand performance, but far enough outside the operation to notice what familiarity hides.

You will meet the person behind Fifth Arrival before any evaluation begins. We simply do not publish a name or a face here, because an evaluation is only honest if nobody is expecting us.
